Why choose our aluminium residential doors

Strength, style and performance

Equally suitable for a front or rear entrance, Mates Rates residential doors are a refreshing alternative to timber, PVC-U or composite door designs.

They use our strong aluminium frames, with the same simple lines as our flush windows.  Doors can be fully or partially glazed, or incorporate a full height aluminium panel.

These doors are engineered for strength and security and are fitted with a multi-point locking system.

Fully compliant with PAS24, they’ll make sure any home is protected from the elements.  Effective seals keep the wind and rain outside.  Our advanced thermal break technology and high specification sealed units keep the warmth indoors, and of course, if you are choosing a glazed door, we will ensure safety glass is part of the package.

Please bear in mind that our doors come with a variety of colour options. However, if you would like to paint your door, follow these steps:

  • Clean the door thoroughly to remove dirt and grease.
  • Sand the surface lightly to create a better bond for the paint.
  • Apply a primer designed for metal surfaces.
  • Once the primer is dry, paint the door with a high-quality exterior paint.
  • Ensure proper drying time between coats for a smooth finish.

The choice between UPVC and aluminium doors depends on your priorities. UPVC doors are known for energy efficiency, affordability, and low maintenance. Aluminium doors offer durability, security, and a sleek, modern look. Consider your specific needs and design preferences when making a decision.
